Erlend and Kristina came all the way from Norway with their gorgeous 3 kids to look for a place to get married and bring their family to celebrate with them. The looking took just a few days and once they visited the amazing Ylang Ylang Hotel in Montezuma, no other place seemed right. A few weeks later, their family joined them and this amazing day happened.
This amazing wedding dress was designed by the lovely norwegian designer Cecilie Melli.
Ericka and Byron are probably the most easy going and relaxed couple I’ve seen in a long time. They just had one goal for this day, get married and have fun. The rest was an extra. Talk about straight priorities! The day in Montezuma was absolutely perfect and the location of Ylang Ylang Resort is perfect, more far apart from the town making it more intimate, this place is in my top 10 locations in Costa Rica to get married. I dreamo of planning a vow renewal with the hubby located here… Maybe in a few years? In the meantime I’ll stay put with other people’s weddings in this gorgeous spot.
I’m so excited to share with you that Carlos and Gloriana’s wedding has been featured in Jet Fet Blog! Enjoy the feature here: http://www.jetfeteblog.com/central-america/destination-wedding-guanacaste
This awesome people invited me to be at their awesome Costa Rica wedding. Even though they are partly ticos (as we call costaricans) they live in Colorado, still Hacienda Pinilla suited them best to celebrate this special day. Gloriana really enjoyed her day and was the far opposite of a bridezilla and Carlos with his fun goofy self could not express more excitement. They had a first look of each other before the ceremony, one of my favorite things in a wedding! The time before all the craziness started was intimate and relaxed and given that the priest was late, we also had a chance to do some more photos around the hacienda. By the way, I loved the attitude toward the tardiness… no priest? let’s snap a few more and have some fun! When things don’t go according to plan, a smile and some creativity will do it.
Wedding Location: Hacienda Pinilla, Playa Langosta (House Villa Tranquila)
Wedding Coordinator: Barbara Broutin
Music: Entre Cuerdas / Cara Luna
Awesome food: Cocoloco
This lovely wedding was in playa conchal. The awesome Anahi Contreras from Tropical Occasions planned and executed this gorgeous details and Jamie and Rafa where as happy as they could have been. Truly a dream of a day.
Laura is from Costa Rica, David from the US. Some common friends brought them together and now their married! They planned the sweetest wedding in Cañas, Guanacaste, in Laura’s family state. The food was traditional costa rican food and they even had a pig cooked in a box for 24 hours! One of the best meals in a wedding I’ve ever had. The landscape was different than what I’m used to and it was awesome to work in a different kind of setting. I was also super happy to work with Eka Mora who is part of our wedding film company Los Buenos Días Wedding Films. Make sure to watch the amazing film and enjoy my favorite images of the day!
I was invited by my good friend Kevin Heslin to second shoot for him at this beautiful wedding. What I love the most about second shooting is that usually the photographer will send me to the grooms prep time, most of the time the bride is the center of our attention, maybe because it takes longer to prepare and requires all kinds of stages. Its fun, but the grooms prep time is also fun in its own way. Yes people, Im #TeamGroom.
Here are some of my favorites!
I would love to introduce you to our cinematography company Los Buenos Días Filmes.
Los Buenos Días Filmes name has a double meaning in spanish, first it can be translates as “The good old days” and also as “The good morning”. This two meanings describe our goal very well, we want that our film shows the life you have today, who you are and what makes your family unique. But also in the future you and your kids will see the film and it will bring back those good old days, when things where different and where you can’t go back but can remember with a warm heart.
Los Buenos Días is a team of 3 girls that love to tell stories and love the people they meet in the process. Ale Sura is one of the most recognized wedding and portrait photographers in Costa Rica. Ericka Mora is an incredible photographer and videographer with a special eye for the unexpected. Carmen Vargas, our editor, has years of experiences working with local and foreign projects related to editing and animating. The three of us love what we do and perfectionist characters are the most important thing we have in common when we come together film making team.
Check out one of our first productions!
Our lovely famiy portrait film:
Jenny and John chose Villa Pelícano because it’s design is one of the most authentic to costarican traditional architecture and details. They really wanted to experience our real culture and see the country as it really is, and oh boy, they did, especially when it comes to rainy tropical rainforest. The awesome part about it is that their Costa Rica rainy wedding seemed more like an adventure than a hassle (at least for them and the guests, Chelsea Brandau from Oasis Wedding, the coordinator may not say the same!) Check out the glory of our country and the gorgeous sometimes not so appreciated wet season.
This was probably one of the most challenging weddings I’ve shot in a few weeks but probably one of the most romantic. Rainy season makes things a lot more complicated but it also brings a blessed atmosphere. I was delighted to see that the Brandy and Anthony didn’t stop their plans to get married at the beach and had all the umbrellas ready for the guests, it made it so special and different! Brandy and Anthony have 3 kids and they were a huge part of their union celebration, hanging out with them during the getting ready made it triple fun and crazy! I was honored to photograph not only these two people but also their whole family who lived up to their Georgian culture and their love for one another.
